Electrochemical coating complex creation

Proton-PM (a subsidiary of NPO Energomash, part of Roscosmos) is starting to create the complex of electrochemical coating lines in Noviye Lyadi.

Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin signed the corresponding order for the budget financing of the project, which is to be realized in 2019-2021. The project design works are to be finished by the end of 2019.

Dmitry Shenyatskiy, Proton-PM Executive Director: "Creating a modern galvanic complex is a huge step towards using the modern approaches, technologies and materials to manufacture liquid-fuel rocket engine components. This will allow the enterprise to vastly improve the quality of engineering, production preparation and the product quality itself, as well as improve the workforce productivity due to automatisation means usage.

The new complex includes 10 galvanic lines with the total area of 11,300 sq. m. will be placed in the building under construction and will feature equipment corresponding to the modern ecological and technical requirements. The complex will allow performing almost all types of galvanic operations used in manufacturing liquid-fuel rocket engines. All the lines will be able to function in automatic, semiautomatic and manual modes.

The complex will be equipped with polymer tanks. Processing tanks will be equipped with gas vents and local exhausts, as well as pneumatic covers blocking hazardous vapors, which will increase production safety for the employees, save energy and spare buying additional exhaust equipment. The project ecology will be ensured by the closed-loop hazardous materials neutralization system, which will collect, dry and briquette used chemicals after that they will be available for disposal.
