Dmitry Rogozin met with Ural Airlines crew
On September 25, 2019, Roscosmos Director General Dmitry Rogozin met with the Ural Airlines aircraft crew, who managed to safely land the aircraft after engine failure following the take-off from Zhukovsky airport.
The meeting took place at the Baikonur Cosmodrome the crew came to at the invitation of Dmitry Rogozin to watch the Soyuz-FG carrier rocket launch with the Soyuz MS-15 crewed spacecraft.
On August, 15 Airbus A321 passenger aircraft heading from Moscow’s Zhukovsky airport for Simferopol collided with a flock of seagulls with many birds striking the engines. The aircraft performed a forced landing, with all the 226 passengers and seven crewmembers left unhurt.
The aircraft commander Damir Yusupov and first officer Georgy Murzin were awarded with the titles of Hero of the Russian Federation. Chief flight attendant Dmitry Ivlitsky, flight attendants Nadezhda Vershinina, Dmitry Goncharenko, Aliya Slyakaeva and Yana Yagodina were awarded with Order of Courage.
Also on September 25, 2019, Dmitry Rogozin met with the FSUP TsENKI handball team and congratulated them on the victory in the 4th Spartakiad among Roscosmos subsidiaries. The head of Roscosmos communicated with the sportsmen and signed a ball.
On September 25, 2019, Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with the Soyuz MS-15 crewed spacecraft launched from the Gagarin’s Start (launch pad No.1) at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The crew included Soyuz MS-15 Commander Oleg Skripochka of Roscosmos, Flight Engineer-1 Jessica Meir of NASA, and Flight Engineer-2 Hazza Al Mansouri (UAE).
