Russia has fully switched to digital TV broadcast

All Russian regions have finished the process of switching to digital TV broadcast – Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov pushed a symbolic button during the Mission Control Center communication session marking the end of analogous TV broadcast era.

“I, Alexander Skvortsov, Roscosmos cosmonaut, member of International Space Station Mission 60/61 salute you from space on such an important day for us all. I have an important mission today to declare the process of switching Russia to digital TV broadcast over,” Skvortsov said, pushing the button on a notebook thus symbolically ending the switching process.

The ceremony was attended by Roscosmos Digital Development Center Konstantin Shadrin and Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network Head Andrey Romanchenko.
