Roscosmos in the International Charter on Space & Major Disasters

Since October 2019,Roscosmos State Corporation took the chairmanship of the International Charter on Space & Major Disasters. Thus, Earth’s Online Monitoring Scientific Center (Earth’s remote sensing means operator, Russian Space Systems company) manages the International Charter on Space & Major Disasters on behalf of Roscosmos and provides swift interaction to provide space data for the Charter participants and its users across the world.

 

The Operator ensures solving the current tasks of the Charter daily activities with new members’ (Belarus and Kazakhstan) integration. Roscosmos is actively supporting the countries including paperwork and providing interaction with Charter participants. Belarus and Kazakhstan are expected to join the Charter in 2020.

 

The Operator also ensures swift data providing for the countries affected by major natural and manmade disasters. During Roscosmos chairman ship in the Charter in October and November 2019 the Charter space means were activated 9 times.
