July 30, 2020, 12:22 GMT

On July 30, 2020, the roadmap harmonized with the concerned agencies and ministries to develop hi-tech perspective space systems was introduced to the Government of the Russian Federation to be approved.

The roadmap was based on the perspective projects to create multisatellite orbit groups of smaller spacecraft, space equipment mass production infrastructure development including those being part of the Sfera program, as well as creating new type of subsriber terminals to transmit data to and from unmanned and robotized systems. The roadmap also includes steps to develop perspective systems for spacecraft and launch vehicles involving Russian Foundation for Advanced Research Projects in the Defense Industry, as well as create within Roscosmos a system to support private innovative companies developing rocket and space equipment.

The roadmap project was developed as part of the Agreement between Roscosmos State Corporation and the Government of the Russian Federation (signed on January 22, 2020), aimed at Russia achieving leading positions in the relevant global market.

The hi-tech area is supervised by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov.
